Commercial HVAC Sales, Madison WI

Scope of Position

Reporting to the Commercial Sales Manager, this position works with customers in order to estimate, quote and sell commercial products and controls. This requires the ability to effectively relate technical information, prioritize target customers and sell products and systems with minimal direction.

Basic Function

Responsible for technical aspect of the sales function in order to meet sales goals and profitability targets as determined by senior management.

Essential Functions

  1. To Be… Punctual, cooperative, dependable and able to take direction.
  2. Develop and grow sales for assigned mechanical contractors, dealers and owner accounts.
  3. Develop and prepare quotations, shop drawings and proposals for customers.
  4. Master and implement all Carrier sales productivity software tools.
  5. Maintain your company computer with the most up to date Carrier QPro/E-cat software along with all other required vendor software. On a weekly basis, back up data to the common drive.
  6. Master utilization of Carrier equipment selection software on all commercial products and controls.
  7. Electronically write up/ input sales orders using both Carrier, misc vendor and NX Trend software.
  8. Provide superior after sale customer service for assigned accounts resolving issues in a 30 to 60 days.
  9. Oversee ordering, delivery, start up and installation of equipment and controls that you sell.
  10. Travel to customer’s site when necessary for technical assistance.
  11. Ensures timely, accurate, proper records, files, data bases, etc. are developed and maintained for assigned areas of responsibility.
  12. Open and willing to perform other duties as needed.

Position Requirements / Skills

  1. Three years’ experience in HVAC or technical sales and/or support.
  2. Ability to work in a team sales environment and with limited supervision.
  3. Strong working knowledge of Commercial HVAC systems and controls.
  4. Strong sales, customer service and organizational skills.
  5. Strong working knowledge of PC and related software.
  6. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  7. Valid WI driver’s license.

Equipment / Tools Operated

Proficient skill in operation of standard office equipment such as fax, multi-phone line equipment, PC and their related equipment, copy machine, calculator, printers, mail related equipment. Able to use basic PC related tools. Ability to drive an automobile.
