Director of Sales - Madison

Basic Function

The director of sales position is responsible for establishing the sales targets to meet Temperature Systems Inc. objectives. Responsible for developing strategic sales plans based on TSI goals that will promote sales growth and customer satisfaction for the organization.

Reports directly to the CEO. Ensures efficient, effective and productive operations for residential & commercial sales, marketing, supplies, hydronic and engineering teams. Responsible for supervision, direction, and corrective action, as required, to achieve desired objectives.

Essential Function

  1. Builds, develops and manages sales team capable of carrying out needed sales and service initiatives.
  2. Ensures communications are coordinated, supports sales plan objectives and achieves organizational expenditure requirements in conjunction with the marketing manager.
  3. Develop an operating budget for the sales division that meets business goals.
  4. Create and implement strategic sales and marketing plans that successfully achieve business objectives while monitoring the competition.
  5. Use available data to accurately forecast sales and set appropriate performance goals.
  6. Develop and maintain positive relationships with key clients, including negotiating and closing on major contracts.
  7. Interact with major equipment suppliers to review sales, objectives and share of market with an emphasis on Carrier Corporate products.
  8. Direct engineering and design as needed to respond quickly and effectively to customers’ needs.
  9. Assure that there is good communication between all sales groups, design and technical services.
  10. Open and willing to perform other duties as needed.

Position Requirements / Skills

  1. Minimum five years’ experience in leading a sales team required and bachelor’s degree in Sales, Business Administration, Marketing or equivalent experience or Master’s degree preferred.
  2. Previous experience in senior sales role with demonstrated ability to meet or exceed targets.
  3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present strategy and results to staff and maintain a professional business image and relationships.
  4. Demonstrated skill in negotiating and closing on critical sales contracts.
  5. Able to travel to all locations on a regular basis.

Equipment / Tools Operated

Proficient skill in operation of standard office equipment such as fax, multi-phone line equipment, PC and their related equipment, copy machine, calculator, printers, and mail related equipment. Able to use basic PC related tools.
